I have seen post regarding noisy 9800pro's. Well now its happening to mine
after about two months. Only on startup for about a minute or so. What are
some other cooling options for this card? Will any other fan adapt to this
card. If so do you keep the same heatsink? One last question, where would I
find memory chip heatsinks online for this card? Thanks all.

The best choice of cooling for the 9800Pro would be either Artic Cooling
ATI silencer (I believe ver.3 fits the 9800Pro) or Zalman VF700Cu.
If you buy VF700 you get Zalman memory heatsinks too.

Which one is better?

Zalman ZM80C-HP on my old one worked a treat.

I have an ATI silencer 1 on my 9700Pro and it's working great so
far(about 2 months).
I think the Silencer would suit a 9800Pro better because it's
cheaper(than VF700) and provides adequate cooling. VF700 is better
suited on high-end cards which get really hot.

Whats the best way to take off heat sink? I have heard that freezing it is
the best?

I would say rather heating than freezing it, but that's your choice.
A hair drier should do the trick if you decide to heat it, but the
heatsink on my 9700Pro came off just by slightly moving it left-right.

btw. don't forget to clean off the thermal pad compound once you remove
the heatsnik.
The guy at the shop that was mounting the Silencer on my 9700Pro
wouldn't have done that if I hadn't told him.
