noise

i am getting in intermittent whistling noise coming from
the processor. this happens off and on for about 15
seconds. after 2 0 3 hours it stops completely. any ideas?

It could be the cooling fan mounted on top of your CPU. Open up the case and
observe.

It also might be the fan on top of the board chipset.

Right, or perhaps even a case fan. Best to check them all. An overheated CPU
or chipset won't last very long.
