Need to get filename only (no path) in title bars of windows. Agreed -- what
Mike Brannigan replied 8-27-05 7:32 am is what new XP Professional v2002 sp2
says to do: Start > Settings > Control Panel > Folder Options > View >
Display full path in title bar > uncheck the box. Done it several times, but
it has yet to work. What to try next? Thanks in advance.

What Mike told you was to hide the path to a folder name in the title
bar oif Explorer windows. Since the Windows Explorer does not display
any filenames in the title bar, I assume, that you talk about another
application. You have to check the settings for this program for about
how to change the display and if this is possible at all.

Thanks for your response. Howsomever, I have some "yes-buts" --
if Mike B meant Explorer windows he didn't say so,

(Please ignore the previous unfinished reply. Hit the wrong key....)

Thanks for your response. Aha!--light dawns about file names vs folder
options.
