In theory, this is a driver or other software issue, which encounters a
stack problem. In practice, it has historically pointed to a driver
problem and also occurs when RAM itself is flawed.

Please post a complete copy of the Stop Errore Report

Does the problem arise during start up or does it occur later?

Are there any yellow question marks in Device Manager? Right click on
the My Computer icon on your Desktop and select Properties,
Hardware,Device Manager. If yes what is the Device Error code?

Try Start, Run, type "sigverif.exe" without quotes and hit OK. What
drivers are listed as unsigned? Disregard those which are not checked.

Hope this helps.

The original post said the version of Windows 2k3 on xSeries 226 server. This
is not Windows XP. Windows 2k3 is Windows Server 2003 and every common fix
for Windwos XP should not be considered. Windows Server is more complex and
it is extremely impossible to generally recommend to re-install any Windows
server versions.

I did not pick up on that point when I made I made my original post.
Thanks for drawing it to my attention. Non-Windows XP requests are
normally Vista related.

Unfortunately, if Windows appear in the product name, people will tend to post
to the first newsgroup they locate. Windows 2000 Sever, Windows 2K3 and
Windows Server 2K8 questions will show up in Windows XP groups. Any Windows
server product problems are not and should not, be solved with the same steps
are Windows XP or Vista.
