hi I think i have the worm or something similar I've
updated with the patch and used several removal tools and
so on and so forth but yet i still am having problems. xp
is still shutting down. when i load regedit, msconfig,
taskmanager, etc. it still disappears and now my internet
explorer no longer works and this all occurred today
8-12/03. When i look for the msblast.exe or anything like
it the search finds nothing. Everytime I restart,in the
load strings of registry there is always some type of
program wanting to load ikuzmqhhl.exe something different
wanting to access the internet everytime i startup. Can
someone plz help all the methods of removal do not work.
because it doesnt find blast or anything like it but i'm
still getting symptoms as if the worm is present.

Have you run a full scan with your (updated just now) virus software? Do you
have a firewall?

Tim;
Follow EVERYTHING and skip NOTHING:
You most likely have a worm W32.Blaster.Worm
DISCONNECT the subject computer from any network IMMEDIATELY.

Install or enable a firewall IMMEDIATELY:

VERY IMPORTANT to follow ALL steps, closing ports or installing the
patch is NOT enough.
Download the patch and regedit referenced in the article below.
You may need to do this at an uninfected computer and burn to CD or
save on floppies.
Each file is small enough to fit on a floppy.

Follow this to clean and protect your computer:

After this is resolved prevent similar occurrences by installing ALL
Critical Updates from Windows Update.
Keep antivirus up to date and run at least weekly.
Install or enable a firewall.
