each time windows does update, my wlan is not working and need to do system
restore. even automatic updates are off, it still does updates sometimes. any
solutions?

next time, go into device manager and try a driver rollback on the
wireless to see if that resolves the issue. if it does, do a manual
check for updates and do NOT select Express. Find the driver update,
deselect it, right click and select hide.

driver rollback? Didn't mesnsion that the use is about Windows Vista. Don't
see option like this

See if the radio is being turned off for some reason. Device Manager,
Properties--Advanced. Also check Power Management to be sure the OS isn't
turning the radio off.
