To whom it may concern:

Recently I have been unable to logon onto my HP pavillion notebook
running XP professional with SP1. I have recently installed an iomega
100MB USB zip disk driver but have not used the drive until today.
The drive worked the first time I used it but after a shutdown and
coming back a few hours later I found that I could not get past the
three part-two tone blue screen with the microsoft logon in the
center. It appears to hang there and no logon screen appears. I have
attempted the following:

1. Removed AC power and batter, reset button 30 secs
2. Attempted last know configuration start (Same problem)
3. Safe Mode (Same problem)
4. Safe Mode with command prompt (same problem)
5. Debugging Mode (still no luck)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Arch

I had the same problem with my HP pavilion notebook after I attached my camera via USB port. It worked 1oos of times before, no issues. It's been three days and I still don't have it licked

I think I'll need to buy XP so I can use Recovery Console and boot from the XP cd. HP only provided 6 revovery disks wihich wipe the hard drive clean for a clean install of winbdows xp and the OEM hp software which came with computer.
