I have windows XP home edition on a dell 4550 with
included reinstallation CD oem installed in this system
I have no "advanced" tab under my Network Connections ,
Ive looked in every icon's properties, and I havent a
dialog box that has the firewall disable switch....hmmm
and I called up Dell, they dont know either...I followed
the directions to a tee at this page:
http://www.microsoft.com/WINDOWSXP/home/using/howto/homene
t/icf.asp
theres a picture there that has 3 tabs, general,
authentication and Andvanced...I have no Advanced tab,
and Ive got Dell customer support scramblin all
over ,wonderin why I dont have one either
isnt that funny?
Well, Id like to have some way of disabling firewall that
XP provides, throw me some bones, Microsoft- maybe even a
way to remove it from registry would be fine because I do
not need it. If I want a software firewall, Ill get zone
alarm (I also have an external firewall router hooked up,
its working fine, but Id like a direct connection to my
router)
