Help! I'm tring to get a basic VPN connection and am getting Error 678 on
the client side - server not answering. Ping times out from client. I know
my static IP address resolves as I've configured the server as a web server
before this and it works fine...I've dissabled web service to test RAS. Is
my problem AOL, the router or the server?
VPN Server:
W2K Server (PPTP w/o encryption, fixed IP addressing in RAS)
Linksys router (Ports 1723 forwared to server IP, VPN pass-thru enabled,
static IP w/DHCP enabled, Ports 50,47 and 500 enabled)
Cable modem
VPN Client:
XP w/Dial-up modem to AOL
VPN connection configured (PPTP w/o encryption, PAP authentication)
