when I encounter a video in a e-mail or on the web and try to boot it up I get a "chime" but n
no picture. My computer always booted the video before .I dont know what changed. Help
I have real time, and the microsoft player but I dont know how to get them to go.

You might try installing flash player from macromedia www.macromedia.com
Flash is needed to play quite a few video clips on web pages.

Just another thought. Do you have java virtual machine installed? This is
also used for web based video. Microsoft no longer support virtual machine
so if you don't already have it installed (XP service pack 1 contained Java
virtual machine but in Service pack 1a Micrososft removed it) you may need
to down load it from www.java.com The full file is arund 10-12MB
