About a month ago I had to re-install Windows XP Pro SP2. Since then
I've been unable to play video files through any programs (Winamp,
Realplayer and Windows Media Player 11). When I try and play a file I
get audio, but no picture. Even files I was able to play before the
re-install won't play. Realplayer tries to find software on it's own,
without luck. Can anyone help me with this problem?

Check your graphic card.Visit the manufacturer's site to download and
install the latest driver.

XP is the operating system. Now you must
reinstall the drivers, codecs, applications etc.

I have a problem with one of my DVD's, the problem is that my DVD Player
shows that my DVD is not inserted when it is. When I try to play the dvd
nothing happens and a window pops up asking to insert the disc, I can play
other dvd's but not this one. When I put the dvd into the home dvd player it
works, but not in my computer. I am running Windows Home XP SP2, all updates
are installed through windows update. It used to work on my computer.

I just tried this. It didn't work. Any other suggestions?

This may sound like a silly question but what color is the data side of the
DVD?
Some DVD players will not recognize a colored DVD.
One of my laptop's, for instance, can't burn to black CDR's.
I don't think the machine is racist or it will be gone.

Exactly.
Start out with the Windows XP Codec pack:
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/XP_Codec_Pack.htm
And the video drivers as Sengupta said.

The disc is not a colored DVD. It used to work and then all of a sudden it
just quit working on my computer, but if I use the DVD player that is
connected to the TV it works.

hmmm, don't really have an answer then except to say that sometimes computer
DVD drives are more "finicky" about the conditions of the discs they play.
