no video, only audio

I have a problem with my windows movie maker, it only playes the sound and no
video.
I drag the movie in te right box, but it automatically goes to audio...

I've no id what i'm doing wrong here...(maybe codecs, but I even don't what
codecs are?)

Does it play the video in the preview window? Are you on the timeline view
and are you dragging you clip to the video section? What extension does your
clip have? Is it mpeg, avi, wmv, etc.?

Try this:

Go to your display options, click on the Setting tab, click Advanced, go to
the Troubleshoot tab, and put the hardware acceleration off.
