....while the fading voice of Johnson whispered through the darkness:

Google for MICVideo or Morgan Multimedia
Or try

A little intro:
AVI is just container for 2 streams - audio and video.
Players are just warp-over tools over the set of drivers, supporting
different formats of video and audio streams.
There are a number of lists of codecs over internet. Google for something
like "VIDS codes list".
Since new formats are constantly developed, those lists are to update - and
no player can be shipped with all the possible codecs.
But some of them (for example Light Alloy
http://la.video-soft.com/) may try
to find the needed codec automatically and download and install it.
Though they can not warranty success of course. Then You have to find the
proper codec after it's VIDS code ("MJPG" in Your case)
The very VIDS code may be taken from error message (if will be displayed) or
by some AVI info tool (for example VirtualDub, noted below, or gSpot from
www.headbands.com) and googled for.
Audio is usually compressed with MPEG1-Layer3 (aka mp3) and hence gives no
problem. There are better formats, like OGG, AAC, WMA, ATRAC and even MP3
Pro - but due to AVI limitations they are not used in AVI containers.
Among video there are a number of formats. MJPG (Multi-JPEG or Motion-JPEG)
is one of them. It allows to quickly compress video, say from TV-Tuner. But
it is not effecient like MPEG4 family (DivX, MS MPEG4, XviD). So i'd
recommend You to repack Your avi with better compressor.
You will need to download the driver(codec, COmpressor/DECompressor) for
format (for example
www.divx.com) and AVI recompressing program (say, VDub
from
http://VirtualDubMod.sf.net)
However this is just a brief intro - i'd suggest You spent some free time
for surfing TV-Tuners and Video-Capturing fans' sites.
At least those are fans who mantains list of VIDS codes and links to
codecs(compression formats drivers).
