Hello,

I just noticed there is no logged-in user name listed on shutdown menu or to
switch from log off window.. Click Start button.. just above Turn Off
Computer, there is no User name listed.. I dont know how long it's been like
that, but what can I do to get it back?

Thanks.

I should say the other params.. XP Home, SP2, PowerToys with Auto Log-On,
so I do get logged on, just the User name does not appear on either the Turn
Off Computer menu, or Switch Users Screen.

Use TweakUI and define who should be seen on the logon screen.

If you mean, [X] Show User Name on Start Menu, I did that, it still does not
show up..

What would the "Start Menu" have to do with the Logon/Welcome screen?

Logon section in TweakUI --> Show _________ on Welcome Screen...
UN-X any you don't want to be seen.

this not a treasure hunt... how abt you just tell me where you want to me to
look in TweakUI

Re-read/re-comprehend.
I cannot do much more than give you a screenshot.

Are you having a bad day? How abt YOU re-read and comprehend the original
post.

There is no user name to log off. TweakUI user name is checked.

How to ask questions the smart way? Now THAT'S funny!

Clarify what you want.
Having a great day? How about you?

Shenan,

Hmmm, that link, and your answer is almost nearly, but not quite, not very
helpful.

I'm sorry you are having a problem comprehending this question. It's
really very simple. WITH the classic menu option, click the START button.
There is no user name above the Turn Off Computer line. That is, to say, no
name displayed to actually log-off. I can Turn Off Computer, but I would
rather Log Off xxxx user.
I do no desire the user name at the TOP of the menu, just on the Log Off
line..
I would say that it is important, but after the wasting electrons on this
Log Off problem, I will just wait until there is another MVP available...

Thank you very little..

Nice smart-a$$ comments.
Almost effective - except I am not the one asking for assistance.

Good luck with that.
I actually hope you get the help you are looking for and I did search for
your issue - but found nothing to help you.

Or - are you saying that 'log off' is not there at all?
(Not just the <username> part is missing...)

1. Right-click the taskbar, and then click Properties.
2. Click the Start Menu tab.
3. The option for Classic Start menu should be selected. Click Customize.
4. Under Advanced Start menu options, click to select the Display Log Off
check box, click OK, and then click OK.

or..

267. Restore "Turn Off and Log Off" - Start Menu (left side)

when you click on LOG-OFF, it Logs off the current user.
it is NOT by user name.
