No text on some files?

Hi,

I'd be grateful for some advice. I have been viewing some Powerpoint files
for a long period by using the free downloadable Powerpoint viewer, and
have had no probs. I now find that the viewer will not display the text in
some newer compiled files. The only difference to the past files is that
the new ones have been compiled on a PC with XP recently installed. Any
ideas of what the problem of missing text could be would be much appreciated
