It is possible that your automatic font color has been set to the same color as the window background color. To check your
color settings, right-click on the desktop and, when a window opens up, choose Properties. (Or, go to the start menu, choose
Settings-Control Panel, and then, when the Control Panel opens up, double-click on Display.)
Then choose the tab that says Appearance. If you have Windows XP, choose Advanced. Otherwise, you can skip that step. In
the drop-down menu that lists various items, such as "Desktop", look for "Window". Note what the color is (if there are two colors
possible, note Color1.) Then note what the Font color is just below that. If they are the same color, that is your problem. Change
one of those colors (by clicking on the little arrow next to the color and choosing a different one) so that they contrast.

Does anybody know why there is no text appearing when i type in any of
my microsoft office programs. The text colour is set to automatic and
the cursor does not move. I have tried removing and reinstalling word,
but to no avail!!!
