Aside from lining things up neatly I have *No* ability to make an access
form look nice.
Usually this does not matter because they work and cost a lot less than the
solution that has all the bells and whistles which my clients don't need or
want.
(I also return phone calls.)

Does anyone know of any sites with ideas or examples that I might
shamelessly copy.
I still will have no taste but they won't know - until I admit it.

Have you checked at mvps.org or Googled for "form design", or checked
graphic design suggestions?

Or, if you are CONSISTENTLY wrong, just do the opposite of your first notion
<g>!

Good luck!

Hilarious, Jeff!!

In the meantime, I have heard that "User Interface Design for
Programmers" by Joel Spolsky is a very good book, and some chapters
are available at
http://www.joelonsoftware.com/navLinks/fog0000000247.html

Most of what I've found and most of the user interface book deal with
designing the software properly.

There seems to be a lot of fluff in the Spolsky chapters and most of chapter
7 http://www.joelonsoftware.com/uibook/chapters/fog0000000063.html tells us
how much better the Mac user interface is, partially because there is only
one menu bar - which I have never liked. Seems we can't use our mouse to
well.

I haven't read this yet, but I intend to - I have a very high opinion of the
author. See what you think of the sample chapter that's available at the
publisher's web site ...

Seeing Data: Designing User Interfaces for Database Systems Using .NET
By Rebecca M. Riordan.

Yes, I know it's about .NET, but basic principles of design don't change
with technology. Green text on a red background is just as bad an idea today
as it was in DOS, or on paper, or on cave walls or whatever! :-)
