No tasks in task bar

Hi

I have a strange problem with my XP Professional start / task bar. Open
tasks do not appear in it. The whole bar will infact only display if a
toolbar is open inside it. If I close all the toolbars in the start bar, the
whole bar disappears and the only way i can access the start menu if through
the windows button on my keyboard. The only way I have to scroll though
tasks at the moment is through using <ALT><TAB>

I have tried dragging toolbars around the start bar but this has not helped.
Any suggestions please?

Try "Taskbar - Programs Aren't Minimized in the Taskbar" at Kelly's link,
below. Click on "T" and scroll down.
