no taskbar

This just recently started: whenever I use a windows component like
Microsoft Word my taskbar and all the icons on my desktop disappear. I
can use Ctrl-Alt-Del to open new programs but it is a huge nuisance
anyways. It starts if I click on the START button. I can use Windows
Media Player though. Any ideas whats going on?
 
i tried th MVP Kelly's Taskbar Repair Tool Plus! and it worked until i
tried to reorganize my start menu and then my taskbar went away again.

Then I suspect you may have a bigger problem in the form of spy/ad programs
on the system. These can help with removal:
