No taskbar?

Hi, this may sound like a really silly question, but I've just installed
Windows 2000 and there's no taskbar? I thought auto-hide might be on, but
when I move my cursor down off the bottom of the screen (or the sides or top)
it doesn't appear. Any idea how I can get it to come back? It's very
frustrating!

Do you have desktop icons?

Hi Galen,

Yep, I do have desktop icons, the other weird thing is that when I have
explorer or another application open, there is a space at the bottom of the
screen as if the taskbar is there, but it's invisible...very odd. I tried
ctrl-esc and checked the settings and auto-hide isn't on. I also tried
looking for a grey line to move up with no luck. Any other ideas?

thanks,
Lisa

My next question would be, then, do you have a taskbar if you sign into a
different account? My thinking is, now, that it's likely just corrupted
which is why I asked the first question. If you have no problems with a
second account I'd simply migrate the user to a new account.
