I get no taskbar icon for MS Antispyware. It shows in
task manager as running. I have uninstalled and
reinstalled several times. I have done the upgrade
through add/remove programs. Still no icon. I made sure
the settings were set to show the icon within the
program. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The build is 1.0.615. I downloaded it from Microsoft a
little while ago. I have tried rebooting several times
and the icon does not appear. It will appear
occasionally when the program is opened. But when the
computer is restarted, the icon is gone. Any other
suggestions?

I just finished reinstalling it to C:\MSAS. On reboot,
the icon is not there. Any other suggestions?

It's possible it could be windows just hiding the icon,
try right clicking on an empty bit of the taskbar and
selecting 'properties', then from the 'Taskbar' tab click
customise, find MSAS in the list and check what
the 'behaviour' is set to, I've noticed that mine does
sometimes get automatically changed to 'hide when
inactive' instead of 'always show'.

If it's set to 'hide when inactive' windows will
automatically hide it if you haven't actually clicked on
it for a while.

Hello Dawn,

Goto: Start/Control Panel/Add-Remove programs/MSAS
then click on suport info!!!
Then click on repair!

If you have more accounts on the PC then it is a XP problem.

This is a known bug in XP.

Log off and log back on, and the icon WILL show up, along
with many other icons that don't show up all the time.
