No Task Bar Icon

Should a Defender Icon continuously appear in the task bar?. It only appears
when it notifies me of items.

This is unfortunate, since, IMHO, it would be great to see the Icon so I can
be reassured the app is active.
Regardless, so far, the app is great.

Is it neccessary to have Defender on desktop? If I delete will the icon show
on task bar when there is some activity?

I think they should add a task bar icon all the time, not just when you do a
manual update or it detects something, this way you know its running.
 
It's available now in the new build. Its under Tools>general settings;scroll
down-near the middle; there will be an option to show it in the toobar All
the time or only when it has activity. It's in build v 1.1.1347.0
