No System Tray Icon???

I liked the System Tray icon by the clock for the previous Windows
AntiSpyWare program (the red and black target symbol) as it let me know
visually that I was protected. Is there a way to get the Windows Defender to
likewise make itself visible this way?

Hello Mark,

Windows Defender doesn't display an icon if no action is needed. If you
haven't already read Mike Chan's reply on the "system tray icon" dated
2/18/2006 in this group, Microsoft plans to add an option in the
future to display the icon for those who want to see that it's "there".

Yes, thanks, I found the reply. Thanks for adding the option, as that is
very important to many of our users. They need to see it there to know its
working.

I think you are right 100 percent i have the same problem, i dont now if
defender il there. i am thinking to return to microsoft anti spyware.
