Hi
I think I know what do you mean . you do not have the ICON of volume control in your task bar or on your Desktop. If that is the case >>> do this . take a minute.
1) go to control panel, double click on the "sounds and audio devices, now
check on " place volume icon in the task bar" , then click on apply and
click on Ok . walla you are done. now check your task bar the icon is there.
for advance config try again the same you can add cd, mic, aux, dvd and more.
If this is not your problem
you may have deleted the file called sndvol32.exe, you have to reinstall
that file by add/remove component of windows which I think this is not your
problem. Good luck Magic
