No System Sounds

I learned in this forum that codec packs are a bad thing so
I uninstalled the ACE codec pack. As a result I have no
system sounds. I re-installed the video codecs from Windows
Media Player but still have no system sounds. How can I
re-install the default audio codecs from WinXP Pro?

I think the easiest thing would be for you to do a System Restore to
before you uninstalled the codecs.
