Try these steps:
* Click Start, choose Run, type "control folders" (with out quotation marks)
and click OK.
* On the View tab, make sure to uncheck the option "Hide extensions for
known file types".
* Click OK.
You refresh system restore:
* Click Start, choose Run, type "INF" (with out quotation marks) and click
OK.
* Locate and select the file "sr.inf". Right-click it and then click
Install.
If prompted for XP CD, then you may place it in the CD drive and point to
the i386 folder.
