Hi All
I notice a reply to posters questions is appearing under
the handle "Support"
These guys are providing a web address for users to
contact for help.
They then charge $15 bucks a call.
give 'em a miss.
Why pay when the posters on this NG are doing an excellent
job....and it's free !!

Regards
Michael

Pretty sad business practice to do such a thing here, where the community seems to do an excellent job of helping each other out

Overall it would be a good business, but doing such things here is dispicable.

Agreed. At the very least, "support" should try to get the respect of people
who ask for and provide solutions around here, say by solving a few
problems, rather than just adversiting his/her site. I think a lot of people
who provide solutions are doing it for fun/challenge anyways, so the idea
that someone is charging just to provide a formula or two is somewhat
puzzling, especially given the gobs of people on this group willing to do it
for free (and/or for fun).

There are a few people on here associated with support businesses, but the
difference is they also provide quick support through the newsgroups when a
solution only requires a few formulas. Since they show they can do it, these
would be good people to call if one was stuck with a more extensive
project -- which $15 dollars wouldn't come close to covering anyways.

It's spam!

Actually the $15 is for email/online support --- it is at tlast $99 for phone
support

I emailed someone at the company this person worked for and informed him that
most likely they lost much more potential business than they would ever gain.
Not sure if it will do anygood but thought I would give them my 2cents

It is laughable that they also posted anonymously.

Allright, I confess, it was me trying to get enough to buy the wild turkey.

May be more creative if paid in advance

;P
