I've recently formatted my hd and reinstalled access 2007 (sp2)
The spell check button I put in my quick access toolbar does nothing when I
click on it.
Also, I have a macro with Runcommand - Spelling and when I select that from
the form's Shortcut menu nothing happens.
Is there a setting or something for this to work?

James

It doesn't work on any forms but in this case I'm trying to use the spelling
on a form with 1 field - RichText/Memo.
I've tried to run spelling from the quick access toolbar, command button
and a shortcut menu with the same results.
It worked before I formatted my hd and reinstalled ac 2007. I
have gotten and installed office sp2.

One odd thing though:
When I attempt to invoke the spelling on a form where there is no object to
spell check
or a text box is disable and locked I get an error message saying there is
nothing to
spell check....

James

When I install an sp2 I assume sp1 is included.
How can I check to see if sp1 was installed? I don't recall
installing it, only sp2. If it wasn't installed do I need to uninstall sp2
then install sp1??

James

Another question here.
Why didn't Windows Update tell me that office sp1 was available BEFORE it
downloaded and installed sp2???
Seems Windows Update had no idea that sp1 should be installed first either.

James

James,

I'm just going to assume that SP2 does not include SP1 though I'm having a
hard time finding out whether the install order has any effect. Seems odd
it wouldn't require SP1 prior to SP2. Makes me winder if SP2 actually
installed. Though I'm going to say install SP1 and then reinstall SP2.

Let me tell you something.
I didn't install sp2 on my own.
I trusted Vista Home Basic Windows Update to download and install the
updates my system needed.
And that is "For Windows and other products from Microsoft Update".
Why did Windows Update download and install sp2 when sp1 wasn't installed.
And I tell you what's going to happen.
I'll try to install sp1 and if all works I'll end up with 5 or 10 more
problems with access.

Now a ...vista.general news group is telling me there's no reason to install
office sp1 if sp2 is installed.

I downloaded and tried to install Office SP1 bit I was told the update was
already installed.

Now what?

James,

Linq thought that might fix your issue as she said it was a part of SP1, I
am guessing that is not the issue because of the messages you are receiving.
I am sorry you feel frustrated by the issue but realize we are only trying
to resolve it not agitate you further. So now that that has proven ot to be
the problem let's move on and try to figure out why your Spell Check is not
working.

I did find this but not sure if it will work for you but it's worth a
read...

Also, what are you language settings? And does Spell Check in Word 2007
work?

Yes. .accdb
I must also add, I'm not sure if I brought this up before, It worked ok
prior to my
formatting of my hd and renintalling of access.

James

James,

That indicates that SOMETHING didn't install properly but not sure what.
Okay, let's try this go to Access Options - Proofing and see what you have
for Dictionary language. Also, did you get a chance to see if say Word has
the same problem?
