While capturing video I receive no sound. I am sure it is
not the camcorder, what could it be?

Hi Brian,
While capturing, the audio is muted in the preview. The audio should
still be captured in the resulting video file. Is this what you are seeing
or is the audio not being recorded at all?
Thanks,
Chris.

Hello Brian,
Are you using Movie Maker 2 or Movie Maker 1. This was a problem in 1
that was fixed in version 2. If you are using version 2 of Movie Maker does
this problem occur when capturing to both WMV and AVI format. If it is
happening when capturing using Movie Maker 2 to an AVI file then it may be
something as annoying as a damaged tape. I had some capture corruption
problems (video + audio) happen to me recently and it drove me nuts trying
to solve it until I tried forwarding the tape a minute or two to get past a
bad section of tape. When I started capture from that point the capture
worked fine.
Best regards,
Chris.

Thanks for your help. I am using Movie Maker 1, I think.
It is definatly not the tape that is the problem. I
believe it must be a config somewhere in windows that I
need to adjust because I have used different camcorders
and even tried a different program and have the same
problem.
