no sound

can anyone help i,ve no sound and don,t know what to do .it is on full on my media player and all wires are fitted corectly
 
Where are your speakers plugged in? If you have a sound card then they will need to be plugged into it at the back of your tower. Do you have the latest XP drivers from the manufacturer of your sound card? Have you gone into sounds and audio devices in the control panel and made sure that you have chosen the speaker configuration that you have and that no mute options have been chosen? Have you attempted to run a diagnostic? Go> start\run and type in dxdiag and hit ok and then click the sound tab and run a test. Good luck.
 
Assuming you DID have sound before - have you changed/used different players
recently? If (for exampl) you used MediaPlayer, then switched to RealPlayer
....
Try looking at your Volume/Mixer control - it's probably been "muted" (tick
in box) because an alternative to WMP has over-ridden this setting.
