Yesterday, I had sound, and today I don't. I've checked
all the connections, and everything is in place. I can't
hear anything - music, sound effects, nothing. Please
help! I don't know what happened! Also, if it helps, the
last thing I did that may be at fault is that I downloaded
the new AOL onto my computer. (it works great, i just
can't hear it...)

Hope someone can help me get my sound back!
Thanks!

Try the following
Start->Programs->Accessories->Entertainment->Volume Control
Check if any are muted
If they aren't muted try:
Start->Control Panel->Sounds and Audio Devices->Audio Tab
See if there is a device selected, try to select
one if not, adjust volume control
If there is no device or it still doesn't work try:
Start->Control Panel->System->Hardware tab/Device manager
See if any under sound are disabled(red cross) or conflict
(yellow mark).
It may get complicated and require you to unistall drivers
then reinstall(e-mail me if you need help).
Good luck

There should be a volume control icon in the system Tray. click on << arrow
to se if it's hidden.

Left click it when found. Uncheck "Mute" if it is. If that fails or
doesn't apply, right-click it and look at both of the options in the pop-up
menu. instructions given in other reply.
