Motherboard ID 11/13/2003-VT8377/VT8235-A7V8X-X
Motherboard Name Asus A7V8X

My sound is inboard.. so this is the name and ID of my motherboard.. I have
been all over the net trying to download the driver I need, I have been to
Asus.. and it just won't install.. I go to device manager, right click on
Multimedia Audio codec which has a Yellow Question mark.. and try to browse
to where I have the driver, but it won't take it.. any help appreciated..

I just swapped out my hard drives and reinstalled my operating system.. and
still don't have sound.. Rainy

Are you trying to install the sound driver for an ASUS A7V8X ?? Or an
A7V8X-X ?? There's a big difference in the sound chips. By the looks
of it, you have an A7V8X-X.

Here's a couple tries;

You do have speakers?

Check in the Control Panel "Sounds and..." that the Mute is unchecked and
the volume settings on the various tabs.

Hi, thanks for trying to help.. I got the information for the motherboard
from Aida32 so yes I think you are right... I will go back to Asus and see
if I can find the right driver..if not I will be back.. :) thanks rainy .
