No sound when importing mp3

If i move the marker just a couple of seconds I will hear the Mp3 song but
not when starting from the beginning and not when making the movie. What is
wrong here? Also I get frequent application hangs.

wAVE SOUNDS WILL NOT WORK IN MOVIE MAKER. BUT WHNE I CLICK ON THE FILE TO
CHECK IT PLAYS. DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS. USING MOVIE MAKER 5.1..CAN ANYONE
HELP?

I had the same problem. After reviewing your note, I used Windows Media
Encoder to covert the mp3 file to wma and things seem to work. Thanks.
