When I play my PowerPoint presentation through my TV the pictures carry OK
to the set, but not the sound. I've not done this before so I'm not sure if
this is something peculiar to PowerPoint or to sending our via the TV in
general.

Any advice please?

How did you connect the TV to the computer or "send" the presentation?

Via "normal" monitor cable (15 pin) to the PC input connector on the back of
the TV.

Hi Dave,

That's good for video but what did you do do transfert the sound?
First, are you hearing the sound from your laptop? If not there could
be two possibilities.

1) The sound is too low on your laptop. To transfert the sound to your
TV, you need to connect the headset connection to a sound connection
on your TV (either a RCA connection or other). I don't what type of
connections your TV has or even if an adaptor exist to transfert the
sound.

2) The sound file is too big and not integrated into your
presentation. Click on the sound file. A Tab sould appear with all the
sound options. One option is the maximum file size PowerPoint will
accept to integrate into the presentation. It would need to be
increased to be over the sound file size.

Look up these options. I think they will settle your problem.

Many thanks for that. Computer sound is fine. Having read your reply and the
help files (again - pity I didn't read them properly before!), I now see the
problem is because the sound files are linked rather than embedded. They're
not very big, but they're mp3 rather than .wav

Many thanks
