No sound!! *please help*

Okay, so i had to reinstall Windows XP. At first i couldbt alter the
resolution, got that working. But the speakers will n ot work. They did
before but not now. They are Altec Lansing (no help from their site) and they
came with my dell dimension desktop 2400. Please help me!! thanks

Try the Sound Troubleshooter in Windows Help (off Start menu).
 
Check the disks that came with your PC from Dell. You probably need to
install the soundcard and drivers. Especially if it came with Sound Blaster.
