No Sound on Microphone

My mic is not putting out any sound. I've tried another
mic and get the same results. I've conducted the test
following the system guidelines and it shows that the
both microphones are not working. I've also attempted to
install "speech Recognition" but it seemed to be missing
when following the guidelines. For some reason, I cant't
seem to locate where it could be found for installation.

Could you please tell me what could be the potential
problem and what I could do to resolve. Thanks for

In that case is not the MIC. Your sound control panel must be muted? or you
insert the MIC into the wrong place? It's a common problem.

Speakers can,mic's cannot

What do you mean by install "speech Recognition"????
For what,to do what?
Do you think your pc will just do things/run progs just by telling it???
There is a lot more to it than that.
