Possibly but as it's PC based I assume you're playing DVD's on, So worth
checking you're volume control properties?
Perhaps another program you have installed lately has nicked the sound for
itself, So worth checking on all the volume sliders on your PC to check for
any that may have been muted by something.
Failing that of course you could try un-installing and re-stalling your
player software.
Certainly there's an oddity (annoyance) with Real Player that if you are
using it for viewing a real media file and turn the sound down, then close
out Real Player, the sound is disabled on the PC... so the solution there is
to reopen Real, turn the sound up and then exit Real again.
