No Sound On Dvd Playback

Well, Here Is Right Quandry I Found Myself In, My Dvd Player Will Play Anything And Give Sound, Except When I Play Dvd Movies... In Saying That If I Try To Play A Dvd Movie Thats Been Downloaded, It Plays Fine, Just Will Not Play With Sound From The Disk,. My Setup Is Msi Pt880 Fsr Motherboard, With A Sata Boot Drive, An Ide Slave, A Dvd Player And Dvd Rw, Both With The Latest Firmware.. 1024 Mb Pc3200 ..... I Cant Burn Dvds Either Anymore, Was Fine But Then All Went Wonky... It Says Burn Completed Successfully, But Wont Play On Anything... On Top Of That I Got Another Problem That With The Ddr Timing Control In The Bios Of My Motherboard I Set It To Dual Channel And It Comes Up On Post As Single Channel And I Constantly Freeze..... When I Got A Couple Of Applications Open, Or One And Try To Read A Disk.... ... I Have Tried Uninstalling Software For The Dvd , And Reinstalling, But It Seems To Be Since I Upgraded To Media Player 10... I Have Scanned For Viruses And Spyware.. But Alls Clear ... Any Suggestions Greatly Appreciated... Regards Desperate Dvder

what slots are your RAM in ? what software are you using to play and burn DVD's ?

Just a simple update to a newer version of dvd burning software can completely upset your nice reliable dvd burning setup... check for Ver and roll back if possible and try burning again...


This has happened on various machines I have repaired... Rolled back to previous ver and problem sorted..

i have nero 6.6.?? , nti platignum 6.7 , roxio 7, dvd decrypter, and shrink, nothing will work, as for my ram they are in slots 1 and 3 128 dual , i managed to sort the ram prob this morning, by moving the sticks over one. but my sound is still the same... thanks for the replies fellas, cheers
