no sound mute suddenly

In my microsoft internet explorer windows XP I suddenly
have not sound...I have tried to correct the situation by
adjusting the volume control on Control Panel, but there
still is not sound.

please help
 
maybe the dog accidentally pulled the speaker connection out...you did not
mention what you did in trying to remedy this...you must give some
facts...not jibberish...OK...
