After installing Windows 2000 Pro on my system I no longer have sound. Clean
install or upgrade...same results. It's not a bad soundcard or anything like
that because if I install windows Me I have sound. I have downloaded and
installed win2k drivers for my soundcard from both Gateway and creative to
no avail. Within device manager under sounds it shows my sound card
(Creative Sound Blaster AudioPCI 128D (WDM) and that's all that's in there.
In other devices I have a PCI Device with a conflict; which is my soundcard.
I have already tried uninstalling everything under "sounds" in device manger
and tried to reinstall. Still nothing. If I remove the PCI conflict and
restart my computer, new hardware found will pop up. If I use the sound card
driver for it, I will have two identical soundcard names under "sounds" in
device manager but still no sound. I'm running a 900Mhz Gateway computer.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
