No Sound in Moviemaker and WMV clips

I am editing video input from my video camera. Picute downloaded fine, but
got no audio. Also, when friends send meMV clips, I get no audio. Other video
audio plays fine.

Can you help?
 
How is the video camera connected to the PC? Firewire? USB? video capture card?

Can you play *any* audio source and get any sound out of the PC? Can you
play an mp3 or even a CD?

Camera connected with USB. (Worked fine in the past.) Geting no sound from CD
or DVD playback through Windows Media Plarer. Sound on Internet site
connections is fine.

Is a puzzlement!
 
I would poke around in Control Panel -> Sounds and Devices and make sure all
of the devices are enabled and the audio levels are OK and nothing is muted.
 
Tried both -- also upgraded to Beta Media Player 11. No change.
Try installing the WMV codec pack and installing it. Or try installing the
Windows Media Encoder whose installation has corrected some issues in past.
