Does anyone know of a patch for dos sound support in
windows 2000?
I am running several old games such as lemmings and
Wolfenstein 3D...I have been unsuccessful in finding any
drivers updates or patches to remedy my lack of sound
playing these games...
any help would be great...thank you

That would be a function of the sound card drivers to support "DOS mode"
sound. If your sound card does not have the appropriate drivers then
you're out of luck.

You cannot use DOS drivers in any version of Windows NT (NT/2000/XP). In
Windows NT DOS programs are run in a virtual environment that emulates the
hardware. DOS programs cannot directly access the real hardware.
Windows NT versions before XP did not emulate a soundcard, so you will need
a 3rd party sound emulation. There are two solutions available:
1. Sound FX 2000 ($39) from http://www.softsystem.co.uk/page4.htm
2. VDMS (open source) http://ntvdm.cjb.net/
