I'm setting up a new laptop for my daugher who is taking an Internet course. When I go to the site http://facultyweb.anderson.edu/~glg/2440/index.htm and play the Welcom PPT presentation on four computers ranging from 98 to XP everything works - including sound. Some have PowerPoint installed (2000 - 2003) and some do not. I just set up a machine using XP Home with Office 2003 installed (PPT 2003) as well. When I go to the link and click the "Welcome" under the "Slides", the PPT presentation comes up but won't go full screen when I click the icon and ther is no sound. The sound works in Media Player and the normal Windows sounds. When I click "Edit wtih Powerpoint", it downloads the presentation and I can play it in powerpoint 2003 with the sound working fine.

Do I need a different control for IE or something?

This is a PowerPoint published html presentation. PowerPoint is not required to
view it. You might have to go into your IE settings and ensure that java
scripting is turned on. Click on the icon bottom right to go full screen. When I
tried the program, it tried to download and install windows Media player, which
I declined, as I already have it on my machine, and the sound played just fine
for me.

Yes, that's the problem. I get it to work fine most places. I think the problem may be the I installed Windows Media Player 9. It has never asked me to download or install WMP on any of the machines but it's interesting it asked you to.

I set up the site as a trusted site and javascript is enabled.

I went into WMP options after sending you the last message. There is an option on the "security" tab "Run script commands when present", I checked it. (I don't know why WMP has this instead of Internet Explorer). Anyway, I changed it and now the lectures work. :-)

Glen, I went into WMP options. There is an option on the "security" tab "Run script commands when present", I checked it. (I don't know why WMP has this instead of Internet Explorer). It appears that this problem only occurs after installing WMP 9. Anyway, I changed it and now the lectures work. :-) However, I must "full screen" them to hear the sound.
