No Sound Help!

I get no sound. I can put in a cd and there's no sound
but it shows that it is playing. I've turned the volume
up to the max in every part of this computer and still get
nothing. Help!

Diane, I just happened upon this newsgroup and saw your message. I am
not very experienced. However, in order to get help, you are going to
have a much better explanation of what you are talking about.

What are you putting in where - a CD into your CD drive? Is it a
regular music CD that will play in any CD player that was made at a
factory? Or is it a CD that someone copied stuff onto it for you and
gave you?
