no sound from live tv

hooked old monitor to new system with vista ultimate and have external
speakers. I can not get live tv sound while all else is working fine. How do
I get sound while watching live tv?
 
Are you saying that recorded TV and DVD sound are fine in MC?
If not are you getting sound in other applications>
 
Check to see if your tv capture card needs the audio to be
connected to the audio-in jack of your motherboard or sound
card as applicable.

I am in the same boat, I have sound with every other program on my computer
for everything from music to recorded tv and movies but in windows media
center itself no sound at all???not even while watching a tv channel or a
recorded show. but if I watch the recorded show with another program (windows
media player) I get the sound??? help!
