OK I HAD SOME PROBLEMS WITH MY COMP FREEZING UP, THEN IT
TOTALLY FROZE THEN I TRIED SYSTEM RESTORE. STILL NOTHING.
THEN WHEN I NEXT TRIED TO BOOT IT WOULD'NT SO I INSTALLED
AN XP DISK I HAD FROM MY PREVIOUS COMP. IT BOOTED THE
DISK FINE BUT NOW I HAVE NO SOUND AND I HAVE FOLLOWED ALL
THE HELP GUIDES. WILL I HAVE TO GET NEW SOUND HARDWARE

No you'll need to install the motherboard drivers if the sound is an onboard
sound chip (ie part of the motherboard) or the correct soundcard drivers if
it's a separate PCI soundcard.

And PLEASE turn OFF your Caps Lock key. It's considered shouting, is
extremely rude and makes the posting difficult to read.

Yeah, I had a similar problem now I've got no sound either and have tried everything... anyone got any ideas?

I love idiots like this - they say they've "tried everything" and when you
ask if they've actually tried installing the driver you might as well have
asked them if they could recite pi to 1,000 places or something equally
impossible.
