No signal to monitor and keyboard lights flashing

Hello

Please help!

I bought a desktop in Nov 06 - it has the following spec:

ASRock Conroe 945G - DVI Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo
1 GB Ram
Audiophile Delta Soundcard

It was all working fine until March when the screen picture started
going wobbly. Then it started flickering onto No Signal Or Cable
Disconnected. Until finally it is not showing any signal to the
monitor at all. I checked the monitor (an old VGA style one) and it
works fine on another computer so the problem MUST be with the PC.
The monitor is plugged into the blue VGA socket on the back which is
the onboard connection and NOT a seperate video card.
Now the computer just powers up and then starts the keyboard lights
(Num Lock, Caps Lock and Scroll Lock) flashing together
intermittently. I can also hear what I'm sure is the DVD Drive
clicking slowly and I can see the fan is running OK over the processor
chip. But that's it!

I have tried unplugging things from the motherboard and re-plugging
them in but it doesn't change anything!

Any suggestions or diagnosis would be greatly appreciated!

I do like the quick answer - but I don't know how to reset the CMOS!?
I am looking it up now on google but if anyone has time to drop a
quick explanation that'd be great!

on yr mb there is battery that range from 2.5 volts to 6 volts jus
take it out and put it back in

Usually, right next to the battery is a three-pin connector with one
jumper on it, usually labeled. Turn off the computer by unplugging, not
by "power switch", move the jumper from its "normal" position to the
other two pins, wait ten seconds, and then put it back where it
originally was.

Pulling the battery with power disconnected will usually work; but isn't
guaranteed to.

OK. removed the CMOS battery and replaced.
Powered up the PC and this time the keyboard responded normally in
that the lights were not flashing and it responded to me pressing the
num lock BUT then it quickly reverted back to its previous state of
all lights on keyboard flashing.

....and still no signal to the monitor. very depressing.

am going to try leaving the battery out for quite a while as i read
that can help as well.

If this system still under warranty, get them to fix it! If no warranty,
disconnect EVERYTHING, except PSU, CPU ans motherboard. Power on, fans
should run, should hear 'No Memory' error, usually, continuous series of
beeps. If not, is one of those three. Try borrowing a working PSU from
another system or friend. Of not PSU, sounds more like motherboard.

hmm.... that worked for a bit. the monitor came on and i got into the
BIOS settings and changed the clock time and date then saved but then
the monitor went back to no signal. The keyboard is currently not
flashing.
looks like it could be more serious then? like the MB itself?

??? after taking the battery out for an hour and coming back to it...
it works?!?! it's all a bit weird but it seems to be fine.

Sounds like a bad power supply , if not check MB caps for bulgeing or
leaking
