I posted this problem last week and received responses. I
tried everything and my GPO is still gone. Here's exactly
what I did along w/ my environment:
1. Sigle domain with one domain controller. (I ran AD on
this awhile ago)
2. Bought new server to replace old server
3. Booted new box up, added it to the domain, ran active
directory
4. Demoted and turned off old box, gave new PC old PC's
ip address
5. Logging in and DNS are all working perfectly. Almost
as if it magically transferred over everything.
6. When I click on "Domain sec policy", I get an error.
It's looking for the old server almost. I'd like to start
fresh w/ my GPO but not sure what to do from here. I need
to have some security on this box soon.
Thank you.
