Hi,

When I try to save my edited movie I do not get the save movie wizard up on
the screen - I get a change in the cursor temporarily and then it just does
nothing - the program is still running - I can continue to do everything
except save the movie in any way, shape or form.

I'm using Windows Media Center 2005 btw with Movie Maker 2 and all windows,
etc updates.

Any advice please?

Thanks for the reply - I can save the project fine it's just that I don't get
the 'save movie wizard' when I click on it from the sidebar or from the menu.

I visited the site you linked to which did not specifically help but showed
me the wizard that I should get - it's the first time I've seen what it looks
like ;)

Any more help?

Cheers,

Jim

To be honest I'm stumped. Perhaps try the link to Dean Rowes piece from the
bottom of this page, to see if all the MM files are correct.

I'm thinking that thre may be an installation problem if you ugraded to MCE.

Did the pc come with MCE2005 on it? If so, how old is the pc? Perhaps return
to vendor and ask for their help?

Tried replacing the dll files and registering them etc but the problem
persists. I got oem mce 2005 from microsoft for attending a course in it and
have no support as such.

Thanks for trying to help - still stumped though.

compare your Movie Maker 2.1 files against the list on the Setup > MM2.1
page of www.papajohn.org and re-register the dll's

I'm wondering too if you have a save to DVD plug-in with your system that
could be getting in the way of the wizard opening up. Some systems have the
feature and some don't.... the plug-in is separate software from Movie Maker
itself.

Files match - odd

Wondering about re-installing sp2 to see if that sorts it out. There were
old mm2.1 files which I replaced from a reply from Graham but it did not make
a difference - maybe a sp reinstall might help - worth trying at this stage I
think - noone else seems to have had the same problem as me.

Cheers,

Jim
