No RS232

If your portable has a USB port, you could try a USB to serial converter..
if you have a network adapter in your portable, you could network it to the
main machine and connect to the net in that way, or you might be able to
obtain a docking station for your portable that would make available the
ports that you require..
 
I've a 56 kb modem and a portable with installed Windows XP. But the
portable haven't an RS232 port. So how can I do to connect my modem to
my portable?

A USB to RS232 adapter, a PCMCIA RS232 port.

Possibly. Some modems do work well with some converters

Many notebooks have docking station or port replicator with a COM port .
Check with the vendor of your's.
